Lecturer of Creative Technology

While earning a Masters of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelors of Science degree in Physics, Chris discovered a bottomless love of learning. Teaching has allowed Chris to share this love of learning with others as he has worked since 2019 to develop and teach courses that empower students. By using project based learning and a hands-on approach to education, Chris helps students to not only design and fabricate projects with technology, but to also discover their own strengths, values, and passions. For him, education is a never ending process that helps people understand themselves, the wider world, and their place in it. His courses cover a variety of topics that include computer programming, electronics, 3D modeling, CNC machining, rapid prototyping, data analysis, and machine learning. He has also offered directed studies in game development and digital scene creation using the Unity and Unreal game engines respectively. In these courses, Chris helps students develop practical skills while they also consider the experience of people who will interact with their creations. Outside of work, Chris loves spending time with his wife and family, reading, traveling, competing in obstacle course races, and running. In the future, he hopes to successfully complete a 100-mile race.
