Professor of Animal Science

Dr. Jay Daniel completed a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Animal Science at the University of Georgia. He then completed a Ph.D. at the University of Missouri and served as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Auburn University. Dr. Daniel then worked at South Dakota State University as an Assistant Professor in a 65% research/35% teaching position for four years. In 2006, Dr. Daniel began working at Berry College. He is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Animal Science at Berry College. His typical teaching responsibilities include Introduction to Agricultural Sciences, Introduction to Animal Science, Forage Production, Beef Systems and Management, and Sheep Systems and Management. However, he has taught a variety of other courses during his time at Berry College. Dr. Daniel has worked on a variety of research projects with most focused on ruminant endocrinology or production. Additionally, Dr. Daniel serves as advisor to the Berry College Block and Bridle Club and is serving as President of the National Block and Bridle Club 2025-2027. In his spare time, Dr. Daniel enjoys taking care of his own cows with his wife.
