As a four-year residential community, we believe that the learning that takes place outside of the classroom is a complement to the lessons learned within the classroom. Our goal in Residence Life is to provide opportunities to explore: personal development, inter/intra-personal competence, as well as social and civic responsibility.
The housing contract can be completed at housing.berry.edu where students log on using their Viking Web credentials.
New Student Housing Assignments
We are so excited to welcome you home to Berry College! As part of your Berry Journey, you will live on campus all four years. We understand that your housing assignment is an important part of your adjustment to college. To ensure that we serve our students to the best of our ability, housing assignments will be given priority to the following criteria being met:
- Deposit date
- Housing application completion date
- Registration for SOAR
Student housing assignments will be made available at SOAR sessions based on these criteria. Students who do not receive a housing assignment at SOAR will start receiving housing on campus, but will not receive the assignment until July.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Freshmen students are housed together in traditional-style buildings. Traditional-style buildings are comprised of mostly double occupancy rooms with common bathrooms on the floor. There are some triple occupancy rooms, but those are much larger than a double room. Each resident is provided with the following amenities:
- Bed with Twin XL mattress
- Chest of Drawers
- Closet or Armoire
- Desk with Desk Chair
- Ethernet Connection
If you choose to bring a TV, it must be able to connect to internet streaming. Berry College utilizes Xfinity Streaming for our cable service.
Each traditional-style building contains laundry facilities, lounges, at least one kitchen and wireless internet. All of our halls are locked 24 hours a day and only accessible via a resident ID card.
Each freshman community has two upperclassmen Resident Assistants (RAs) who have been trained and are ready to serve you this year.
Incoming transfer students are housed with other students of similar age and/or classification in traditional-style residence halls when available.
ROOMMATE MATCHING
It is natural to feel anxious about your college roommate, whether college is new to you or not. Upon making your deposit to Berry College, we encourage you to complete the housing contract where you will also indicate roommate preferences. We use these preferences to match you with a roommate, so students are encouraged to respond honestly. We honor all mutual requests made on the housing portal by May 15 but cannot do so after that date. We also cannot change room assignments or roommate groups until the Room Change process begins in September.
