"Civility fosters integrity – it promotes all parts of one’s self fitting together – because it emphasizes having correct motivation and internal disposition toward others and the world, and cultivating habits and actions aligned with that inner state."

- The Soul of Civility by Alexandra Hudson

Berry College is pleased to welcome author, civic advocate, and cultural commentator Alexandra Hudson as this year’s distinguished guest for the Cecil B. Wright III Integrity in Leadership Lecture on November 14. Hudson’s lecture will focus on her acclaimed book The Soul of Civility: Timeless Principles to Heal Society and Ourselves. This event is open to the public and made possible by the Berry Center for Integrity in Leadership and the generous contributions of our benefactors. Hudson will challenge our thinking on how civility can bridge divides in today’s polarized society, drawing from extensive research across disciplines. She has engaged audiences through major media platforms including PBS, The Wall Street Journal, CBS, Fox News and TIME, advocating for civility as an essential tool for healthy discourse and community building.

Alexandra Hudson is a passionate advocate for the power of ideas and storytelling. She is the founder of Civic Renaissance, an intellectual community of 50,000 members worldwide dedicated to beauty, goodness, and truth. An influential voice in civic engagement, Hudson has advised international bodies like the Parliament of Canada and the UK House of Lords. As a Rotary Scholar, she earned a master's degree in public policy from the London School of Economics. She continues to inspire communities globally through her writing, speaking, and teaching.

Alexandra Hudson's lecture on The Soul of Civility exemplifies integrity in leadership and our developmental journeys to live honorably, minister with grace, and lead with purpose. This Berry Center for Integrity in Leadership event will take place on November 14 at 11 a.m. in the Krannert Ballroom. We welcome Berry and the surrounding community to join us in this engaging lecture on how we can lead with purpose and civility in today's world.
